Nowata

Ralph Edwin Bellamy, 75, a long-time resident of Nowata, Oklahoma passed from this life into eternal rest on December 26, 2022. Ralph took his first breath of life on December 26, 1947, in Coffeyville, Kansas, the son of Howard Clinton and Maxine Elizabeth (Camden) Bellamy.

Shortly after Ralph was born, his family moved to Colorado. The family then permanently moved to Nowata when Ralph was still young. Ralph attended and graduated from Nowata Public Schools. On April 21, 1967, Ralph joined the United States Air Force in Oklahoma City, OK. He worked as an Air Force mechanic during the Vietnam War era.

After the Air Force, Ralph began working at the Delaware School as a janitor. After that, Ralph started working at Westco as a delivery driver for many years. Ralph was a man of many talents and had several hobbies. He was an excellent artist and was phenomenal at woodworking. He enjoyed collecting things that would enrich others’ lives, playing snooker ball, and was a huge animal lover. Ralph was known to feed all kinds of stray animals such as raccoons, cats, pigeons, and even raised peacocks at one time.

Above all, Ralph was a very kind and compassionate man. Every summer, he would volunteer mowing several neighbors and friends’ lawns and Ralph did not expect anything in return. Ralph will be missed by all who knew him.

Ralph is preceded in death by his parents; Howard and Maxine Bellamy, his brother; Donald Bellamy, and his brother-in-law; Robert Tidwell.

Those to cherish the memory of Ralph include his sisters; Barbara Tidwell and Sandy Hadley and husband, Gene, 6 nieces, and 2 nephews, as well as a host of other relatives and many friends.
