Janet Louise (Earnshaw) Minnerath left the earthly world early on June 1, 2021. Janet was born in South Gate CA on November 24, 1938, to Spencer A. Earnshaw and Helen Scott (Douglas) Earnshaw. She attended school in Ontario, CA and graduated from Chaffey High School. After graduation she joined the Peace Corp. After the Peach Corp she attended UCLA where she graduated with a master’s degree in Library Science. After graduation she worked in the Rancho Los Amigos Veteran Center establishing a medical library. It was while she worked there she met her future husband Gary R. Minnerath. They married on June 5, 1965, in Downey, CA. They made their home in California until an opportunity to establish a Medical Library at a large University in Richmond VA came along. They moved to the Richmond area, then to New Orleans, LA to establish a Medical Library once again at a major University. They moved to Tulsa, OK where she once again established and managed the Medical Library for the OU Medical Center. After retirement, the couple moved to Nowata, OK where she enjoyed the farm animals and rural life in general. She spent most of her time researching the genealogy of her and Gary’s families. Along the way she took flying lessons and got her pilot’s license. Her and Gary flew and traveled all over the world. She was the President of her ladies flying association and was an active officer in the National Library Association. Janet attended the Church of Jesus Christ of LDS.

Janet is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Gary R. Minnerath and two sisters, Helen Marie (Earnshaw) Thompson and Dorothy Grace Morton.

She is survived by a brother William Arnold Earnshaw, a sister Mildred Kaye (Earnshaw) Farmer, a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews and many friends.

Janet and Gary would often invite friends and family into their home and have helped numerous organizations and individuals through the years.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 p.m., Friday, June4, 2021 at the Ball Cemetery in Childers, OK with Bishop Rainsdon officiating. Arrangements have been entrusted to Benjamin Funeral Service.
