Houston Bibby, 95, of Childers, passed away on Thursday, October 7, 2021. Houston was born June 4, 1926, in Mobile, Alabama, to Obliss and Nielen (Brown) Bibby. He graduated from High School and went on to serve in the United States Navy. On August 17, 1946, he married the love of his life, Betty Mae Deuel. Houston worked as a postmaster for several years In California before retiring. After retiring, Houston and his wife made their way back to Oklahoma, and made their home in the Childers area, where they started a farm. He was known as a handy man and could fix just about anything you put in front of him. His hobbies included farming, raising cattle, hunting, fishing, collecting coins and guns. Above all he loved his family. His wife, children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and other family members held a special place in his heart. Houston was a well-respected member of the community and a member of the Living Word Family Church of Nowata. He will be missed by all who knew him.

Houston was preceded in death by his wife Betty Bibby; parents, Obliss and Nielen (Brown) Bibby; one sister, Ester Taylor; two brother, Alfred Bibby, Ray Bibby and one granddaughter Lea Rae Bibby.

Houston is survived by his three children, Sharon Wilson of Childers, Rick Bibby of Idaho, Kathy Cole, and her husband Jim of Nowata; seven grandchildren, Bryan Blom and his wife Jami of Nowata, Stacey Fugate and her husband Greg of Nowata, Ryan Wilson and his wife Dee of Childers, Larry Kopp and his wife Christy of Owasso, Summer Kopp, Ryki Jo Bowens and her husband Kevin of Boise, Idaho; numerous great-great grandchildren and a host of friends.
