George Michal Rott Jr., lifelong farmer in Talala, Oklahoma passed away January 3, 2023, at Saint Francis Health Center in Tulsa. He was born December 8, 1926, in Talala, to George M. Rott Sr. and Lillie (Repschlaeger) Rott. George grew up on the family farm and learned many life lessons. George attempted to join the Military during WWII but was declined due to farmers being needed to provide food for the country. He married Jeannette Ross in Claremore Oklahoma on September12, 1947. A marriage that would last 58 years prior to her passing in 2006. They made their first home near Talala area where the lake is now located. In 1959, they moved to the farm at Oologah, where George lived the remainder of his years. In 1985, they were selected as Rogers County farm family of the year. George worked the farm his entire life. He served many years on the Rogers County Agricultural Board. He enjoyed square dancing, bird hunting and fishing, when he was able. George was a loving father, grandfather, great grandfather, and brother. George was a humble man of integrity, who believed a man's word and a handshake solidified everything. He will be missed by all who knew him.
Preceding Mr. Rott in death are his parents George and Lilly Rott, his wife, Jeannette Rott, siblings, Fred Rott, James Rott, Liz Paulus, and Helen McGill. Survivors are his children, Larry Rott and wife Marty, of Oologah, Angela Blaylock and husband Kevin of, of Oklahoma City, Charlotte and husband Kevin, of Georgetown, Texas; six grandchildren, Michaela Rott, Nicole Rott, Dustin Usher, Stacey Bagley, Erik Myers and Laura Santana; 7 great-grandchildren; a sister, Lillian Henson of Noel, Missouri; longtime friend Glenna Hitchcock of Oologah; many other relatives and a host of friends.
