Barbara June Benigar, 89, of Nowata, Oklahoma passed away at The Journey Home Hospice House in Bartlesville, Oklahoma on April 10, 2021.

Barbara was born January 26, 1932, in Skiatook, Oklahoma to Theodore Griggs and Anna Zora (Fletcher) Griggs. She attended Skiatook High School until the ninth grade.

She married the love of her life Carl Benigar Sr. on January 22, 1950, in Skiatook, Oklahoma. Barbara and Carl made their home in the Collinsville area until they moved to Nowata in 1968 to operate a dairy farm. She was employed by the Bliss Restaurant in Nowata, for many years as a line cook and baked pies for the restaurant. Barbara was a hard worker and was not afraid of getting her hands dirty. She was always busy either at work, baking pies for the restaurant to have the next day, milking cows, or lending a hand on the farm.

Barbara attended the Watova Full Gospel Christian Center until her health would not allow it. Her hobbies included crocheting, sewing, cooking, canning, and baking. She enjoyed traveling to different places with her husband. Barbara would sew stuffed animals for Christmas gifts for her family and friends. She was devoted to her family, even if she was not feeling well; it did not stop her from having family gatherings. Barbara enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. Her greatest accomplishment was her family, whom she loved unconditionally and always made sure their needs were met. She will be missed by all who knew her.

Proceeding Barbara in death are her parents Theodore and Anna Griggs; her husband Carl Benigar Sr.; and four siblings, Edith Goodwin, Teddy Griggs, Eddie Griggs, and Ruth Moyer.

Survivors include her three children, Elizabeth Teel and husband Woody, Lynn Benigar, Carl Benigar Jr.; three siblings Buddy Griggs, Jackie Remy, Leaon Remy; four grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; three great- great grandchildren; and many other relatives and a host of friends.
