Amanda Shepard

August 4, 1966 — December 14, 2022

Wann

Amanda Ruth Shepard in her 56th season of life passed into the gates of Heaven to receive her Heavenly reward on the bright and cloudless morning of December 14, 2022, in Grove Oklahoma. Amanda took her first breath of life August 4, 1966, the beautiful baby girl of Joe and Bobbie Jernagan.

“I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day…” 2 Timothy 4:7,8.

We know in good faith the word of God says to be absent from this body is to be present with the king, Jesus. We find strong comfort in knowing our sweet Amanda is dancing down the streets of gold praising her Savior with no sickness, no sorrow, no pain. Sorrow may last for the night oh but joy cometh in the morning and Amanda she has received that joyful morning and took flight with angels into eternal glory.

At the center of Amanda’s heart was her God, her Faith, and sweet Jesus, and her family. Amanda loved her family with a passion no one person could match, she loved to fish, and just being outdoors in general. Amanda could often be found drawing or coloring in her favorite pictures, as she was a talented artist. She loved the Oklahoma Sooners and had the opportunity more than once to attend their games. Most off all, Amanda loved to be surrounded by family and friends.

Amanda was greeted at the gates of Heaven by a host of relatives that have passed on before her and leaves behind her son, Tommy and a host of other relatives and friends to cherish her beautiful memory.

Amanda will be laid in state for a final farewell with friends and family on the evening of January 4, 2022, From 4:00 P.M. to 6:00 P.M. at the Benjamin Funeral home in Nowata Oklahoma.

A homegoing celebration will be held January 5 at 2:00 P.M.  in the chapel of the Benjamin Funeral Service of Nowata, Oklahoma.
