Alwildia Marie Parrish, 88, passed away Friday, May 14, 2021 in Bartlesville, OK with family at her side. She was born December 2, 1932 in Watova, Oklahoma, to Chester C. and Lena Maude (Vaughan) Johnston.

Alwildia was raised in Watova, Oklahoma and lived in the Nowata county area her whole life. On November 13, 1948, she married the love of her life Harley Roy Parrish Sr., and they cherished over 44 years together until his passing in 1993. She had various jobs throughout her life, Bliss Restaurant, Lander’s Grocery, Farris Propane, Rexall Drug Store, and retired from the Nowata County Courthouse when she was 85. Most of all her favorite job was being a housewife and taking care of her family. Alwildia was an avid donor with Red Cross Blood Drives in which she has donated over eighty-five pints of blood in her lifetime. In her spare time, she tended to her hobbies of jigsaw puzzles, cooking, fishing, and going to the casino. Alwildia had a fun, outgoing personality in which people gravitated to her. She always had a great sense of humor and a smile on her face. Alwildia enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. Her greatest accomplishment was her family, whom she loved unconditionally and always made sure their needs were met. She will be missed by all who knew her.

Alwildia was preceded by her parents, Chester, and Maude Johnston; husband, Harley Parrish Sr.; one daughter- in-law, Linda; seven siblings: Pete, Mary, Viola, Juanita, Chet, Joan and Kay.

She is survived by her five children, Brenda Quitter and husband Richard of the home, Harley Parrish Jr., Gary Parrish and wife Patricia, Donna Parrish, Connie Thacker and husband Eddie; eleven grandchildren: Johnna Bryant and husband Doug, Robert Parrish and wife Shauna, Shannon Warehime and husband Steve, Amy Rush and husband Mike, Teresa Quitter and Steven, John Parrish and wife Joy, Roy Quitter, Kevin Parrish and wife Shelby, Dustin Thacker and wife Amanda, Barry Thacker, Shane Thacker and wife Christina, fourteen great grandchildren: Hunter, Chandler, Jessica, Jordan, Jadyn, Julie, Kaitlyn Morgan and husband Trace, Jakob, Emma, Kasen, James, John-Luke, Kyle, Caleb; three great great-grandchildren: Nicholas, Annie, Everly; one brother, Larry and many other relatives and a host of friends.

There will be a family and friend visitation Tuesday, May 18, 2021 from 5:00 to 7:00 pm at Benjamin Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 19, 2021, at the Benjamin Funeral Home Chapel in Nowata, OK, with Pastors Dustin Thacker and Shane Thacker officiating. Burial will follow at the Memorial Park Cemetery in Nowata, Oklahoma. Services are under the direction of Benjamin Funeral Services in Nowata, Oklahoma.
