Wilma Sue Frauenberger was born on August 13, 1938 in Childers, OK. The first of twin girls to Earnest Bryant and Maude Elizabeth (Whitney) Lay. She attended and graduated from Nowata schools in 1956 and was married to Orville W. (Herb) Frauenberger on March 29, 1957. She was a member of the First Christian Church in Nowata all her life. Wilma worked at Phillips Petroleum Co., Cities Service Oil Co., local attorneys and retired from Arvest Bank, formerly Victory, in January 2001, after 29 years of service.
She is survived by her son and daughters, William Bryant Frauenberger, Billie Joanna Frauenberger, both of Nowata, and Shawn (Sam) and her husband Garett Fanning of Bartlesville; grandchildren, Katherine (Katy) and her husband Josh Miller, Brent and his wife Elizabeth Branham, Chelsea Nicole Frauenberger, Kaylee Ruth and her husband Blake Hilyard, and Graeme and Lennox Fanning; her twin sister Wanda Lou (Lay) Straw; and a sister in law, Lenora Lay; as well as great-grandchildren Kamryn Miller, Blane Miller, Addison Branham, Madelyn Branham, Milo Branham, and Rhett Hilyard, a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
Wilma was preceded in death by her husband, Herb in 2008, daughter Kelly Sue Frauenberger in 1993, as well as her parents, a sister, Evelyn M. Anderson, three brothers, Raymond W. Lay, Earnie Lay Jr., Bill Lay and her mother and father-in-law, Milton and Auddria Frauenberger.
Private family services are under the direction of the Benjamin Funeral Service in Nowata. There will be a friends and family celebration at 1:00pm August 15, 2025 in the fellowship hall at the First Christian Church, Nowata.
