Wesley Allen Albert

March 13, 1947 — May 28, 2025

Nowata, Oklahoma

Allen wan born on March 13, 1947 in Nowata, Ok to Wesley William Albert & Genevieve “Josephine” Hash. At the age of 3 the family moved to Derby, KS, where he spent his childhood and teen years. Among his accomplishments were attaining Eagle Scout in the Boy Scouts of America and earning the hand of his first wife, Bonnie Lee Burnett whom later birthed their sons, Lance and Chad Albert. At the age of 17 Allen volunteered & enlisted into the United States Army. Two years later, in 1966, he deployed to Vietnam, doing two tours of duty with the 173rd Airborne. He participated in many operations including the only airborne troop deployment of the war, during which he earned many accommodations including the Purple Heart. Afterward, he worked many duty stations throughout the world including deployments to Okinawa and Germany. He ended his service working with defense missile systems near White Sands, New Mexico in 1985.

He made his home in Arkansas for a short time before joining his brother Johnny in the wilderness surrounding Apache Junction, Arizona where they both panned for gold and grew the grizzled beards of mountain men. Allen loved the wilderness and felt a great deal of connection within the woods and waters of nature. Sharing that love was one of the greatest joys of his life and he did so as often as possible. He especially enjoyed hunting and fishing with his brother and friend, Larry.

Allen was a quiet, generous, and very humble man. In 2001 he returned to Nowata to care for his mother until her passing in 2015. He was always there if any of his brothers and sisters or nieces and nephews needed him, never asking anything in return. Well, except to stop planting stuff in the yard! (He had a very precise way he liked mowing the grass…)

When the time came Allen passed peacefully on the 28th of May 2025. He was preceded in death by his mother Genevieve Josephine Hash, his father Wesley William Albert, his brothers Benjamin “Benny” Paul, Johnny Ray, Billy “Donny” don, and his sister Mary Jo Luton. He is survived by his sons Lance and Chad Albert of Albuquerque, NM, brother Larry Albert and his wife Ginger of Nowata, sisters Sherry Laughlin and Sandra Buchek of Nowata, and countless nieces, nephews, and cousins come on.

Wesley Allen Albert will be laid to rest at McMain’s Cemetery on June 2, 2025. In God we pray for his glorious journey to meet our Heavenly Father, until our ultimate reunion at Jesus’ feet.
