Sam Mitchell

Luginbuel Funeral Home, Vinita, OK (918) 256-5555.........Sam Keith Mitchell 67 of Collinsville, OK passed away March 7, 2019 at Hillcrest Hospital in Tulsa. Sam was born September 28, 1951 in Miami, OK the son of Lloyd Mitchell and Laverne (Simpson) Mitchell. Sam was raised in Miami where he graduated Miami High School. As a youth Sam was a poster child for Page Milk Company. He attended the University of Nebraska and was a cornhusker football player. Sam received a Masters in chemistry. He worked for Bear Chemical after graduation; while working in California he started a private investigator business which he owned for forty years. Sam moved back to Langley to care for his mother and father during their golden years. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and collecting firearms; he was a gun dealer.
Sam was preceded in death by his mother, father, aunt Margret and uncle Paul Henson who where like parents to him.
Sam is survived by his wife Terri Lynn (Rutherford) Mitchell of the home; daughter Cheyenne White of Tulsa, OK; sister Natha Waldbaum of Omaha, NE; three special nephews Matthew, Jerrod and Adam Waldbaum; and some nieces.
Funeral service will be 1:00pm Thursday, March 14, 2019 at Spavinaw Strang Cemetery with Pastor Davies Vanpool officiating.
