Robert James Allen Jr., 80, passed away on Monday, February 15, 2021 in Nowata, Oklahoma. He was born on October 13, 1940 in Delaware, Oklahoma to Robert James “Bud” and Georgia Mae (Teufel) Allen. At an early age him and his two brothers was members of First Church of God. Robert was a 1959 graduate of Nowata High School. While in school Robert played the trombone in the band. While in high school Coach Brown recruited him to play football and he played in the guard position. On May 23, 1963 Robert was inducted into the United States Army. He served his country and was as a Private First Class. Robert was honorably discharged on May 20, 1965. After his military service Robert worked for Gold’s Furniture in California. He met Bobbie Ann Pierce and they were later married. Robert and Bobbie had a son, Matthew James. Robert started a pool cleaning business in Southern California, in 1984, not long after that his parents asked him to come home with Matthew so his parents could help with the raising of his son. Robert helped his father raise registered limousine cattle and Robert worked very hard building fence, and any other chores that needed to be done. Robert and Matthew became members of the First Baptist Church. He worked for Walmart for years in several departments, he was a team leader and would tackle any task that needed to be done. Robert owned several corvettes over the years and enjoyed watching football. He was a Oklahoma Sooners, Oklahoma State Cowboys and Dallas Cowboys fan. He enjoyed spending time with his family and loved them unconditionally. He will be missed by all who knew him.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents, Robert, and Georgia Allen; paternal grandparents, Jim and Clara (Martin) Allen; and maternal grandparents, George and Mae (Morris) Teufel.
Robert is survived by his son Matthew James Allen of Utah; two brothers, Thomas Leon Allen of Nowata, Johnnie Ray Allen and wife Diane of Vernon Township, New Jersey; a nephew, Jason Allen and wife Lisa; great nieces, Zoe Allen and Kylie Allen all of New York; many other relatives and a host of friends
Family will have a private family service at a later time. Memorial services will be held under the direction of Benjamin Funeral Services of Nowata..
