Randy Jon Wyckoff, 66, born a beautiful baby boy with Down Syndrome on May 13, 1959, in Superior, Montana, passed into the loving arms of Jesus on Monday, May 26, 2025, in Bartlesville.
Randy was very active and energetic. He loved being outdoors and running, he was very fast. As he grew older, he competed in the Special Olympics and won many medals that he was very proud of. Randy was an avid wrestling fan, and he enjoyed practicing those moves on his younger sister until mother had to be called to shut it down. He also enjoyed watching football.
As much as Randy enjoyed sports, his biggest passion was for the Lord. After church services were over, Randy would step up to the pulpit and with his hand in the air, speak into the microphone and lead singing, keeping the rhythm just like the song leaders did. He loved playing church at home and would stand behind the recliner, with a bible on it, flipping through the pages even though he couldn’t read. He would also lead singing at home, just like it was done in church.
Randy was fun, he had his own unique sense of humor and was full of smiles and laughter. There were certain words he liked to say, such as “pigtails”, that would crack him up and you couldn’t help but laugh right along with him.
Randy’s younger years were spent primarily in New Mexico. Most recently, and for the last 47 years, he has lived at Hays House in Nowata. It was during that time he participated in the Special Olympics. He also participated in a work program for the ARC that he enjoyed. Randy was very precise at everything he did, so it’s certain that he performed well at the tasks he was given to do.
Randy is survived by his two brothers Bert (Lon) Wyckoff and his spouse Bobbie, and Jeff Wyckoff and his spouse Hien; two sisters, Dawn Vik, and Felicia Allen and her spouse Rich; along with many treasured nieces and nephews as well as a host of friends. He was preceded in death by his mother Lavena Mary (Pierce) Grubb, and his father, Burton Reid Wyckoff, and a brother in law, J. Otto Vik.
A private family service will be held on a later date. Online condolences may be made at www.honoringmemoriesnowata.com or on the funeral home Facebook page. Arrangements are in the care of the Benjamin Funeral Service, Nowata, OK., 918-273-2700.
