Penny Sue Gonzales, was born August 7th, 1962, in Nowata, to George and Mary Stritzke. She passed away at her home with her family by her side on Saturday, Aug 23. Penny spent her whole life as a country girl living South of Nowata raising horses, chickens, peafowls, and many cats. She designed and built portable chicken coops, that sold nationwide. She owned P&A Paints, raised and showed paint horses. She also owned Okie Critters, where she had people from many states that drive in to buy from her. She was a precise builder that did excellent work until her health took a toll on her. Penny enjoyed staying home, seeing her 5 grandsons come to the house and play. Another great entertainment was her pond, with all her large catfish. When she would go to feed them, they knew her voice and would gather, and some would be flopping at the shore line, so close you could touch them. Penny would never allow anyone to catch her pets. She attended the Nowata Schools where she graduated in 1980. Penny married Alan Gonzales on September 7th, 1979. They had 1 daughter, Samantha, and 1 son, Eric; 5 grandsons, Apollo Gonzales, Kurt & Jamie Sullivan, Walter & Maxwell Lever. Also surviving is her twin sister, Jenny Deane, brother, Tom Stritzke, 8 nephews, 3 nieces, and 2 sisters in-laws, Lora Marshall and Teresa Kempton. Penny was preceded in death by her parents, brother Anthony B. (Tony) Stritzke and a sister in-law, Karen Gonzales.
