Nadeen Hester

Nadeen Hester, 94 of Nowata, passed away Monday morning, May 12, 2025 in Nowata. Nadeen was born on January 7, 1931 in Chelsea to Earnest and Florence (Williams) Tomlinson. She received her education in the Chelsea schools until 7th grade, then to the Bugskuffle country school and later to the Alluwe school system. On March 1, 1948, Nadeen married Cecil Hester in Bartlesville, he preceded her in death on September 8, 2008. She worked for many years at the Nowata General Hospital as a CNA, retireing after 32 years and 8 months. After her retirement she spent her time working with community service and helping where she could. She spent time making lap quilts for people, helping out and enjoying the company of others at the Nowata Senior Citizens and at Elder Care in Bartlesville. She truly enjoyed playing dominoes, reding Amish books, Gospel Music, and especially spending time with all her family and the Sunday dinners they would share. The one disappointment she would express was the fact her mother had passed away so early in her life, for she was only 75. Some things she will be remembered for by family and friends was her desire to help people, working out in the yard, and her love of chocolate. 

Nadeen is survived by her daughters, Linda Goins and her husband Jim, Patti Hathcoat and her husband Denzal, both of Nowata; step daughter, Dawn Adams and her husband Roy of Delaware; sons, Frank Hester of Ramona, Cecil Hester and his wife Kelly of Skiatook, Bill Hester and his wife Regina of Bartlesville; and over 100 strong of grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren; as well as a host of other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Cecil Hester; her mother and father; brothers, Elmer, Vern, Howard, Bill, Chester, and Dorsey; sisters, Irene, Dorothy, Hester, and Odene.

Funeral services for Nadeen Hester will be held on Friday, May 16, 2025 at 10:00 A.M. in the Cornerstone Community Church with Randall Schatz officiating. Burial will follow in the Memorial Park Cemetery in Nowata. Grandsons Danny Hester, Rick Vann, Scott Hester, Tim Vann, Garrett Hester, Daygan West, and Travis Taylor will serve as casket bearers.
