Mikel Edward Sears, 63-year-old, lifelong Nowata resident, passed away Friday, September 18, 2026, at home, surrounded by family. He was born on August 3, 1963, in Nowata to Ralph and Shirley (Noblitt) Sears.

A graduate of Nowata High School, he completed trade school for auto mechanics and worked for NAPA in Nowata for many years. Mikel was a member of First Baptist Church and attended until his health no longer allowed him. He loved old cars and remodeled old cars, bringing them back to life. He also enjoyed drawing and painting.

Mikel served the Lord faithfully and will be remembered as a caring, selfless, and giving person.

Mikel is survived by his brother, Kevin Sears (Beverly) of Nowata; sister, Deanna Harvey of Nowata; nieces and nephews, Samantha Kipps (Daniel) of Skiatook, Kevin E. Sears of Nowata, Isaac Pierson of Nowata, and Destiny Hill of Nowata; great-nieces and nephews, Colton Kipps, Miranda Kipps, and Sierra Kipps.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Shirley Sears.
