Lora Ann McVay

Lora Ann McVay, 75, passed from this life on May 28^th, 2023 at her home in Nowata, Oklahoma, with her dedicated partner, Ray Strasburg, and her family by her side. Lora was a beloved mother and grandmother. Through her, we know what strength and perseverance truly look like.

She was born in Claremore, Oklahoma, on March 27, 1948, to James Walter McVay and Mary Jane (Bigham) McVay.

Lora has been a resident of Nowata, growing up and remaining in the area. She graduated from Delaware High School. She worked at Disan Engineering Corporation. Lora enjoyed spending time with her family and grandchildren and researching genealogy. She will be missed by everyone that knew her.

Lora is preceded in death by her parents James Walter McVay and Mary Jane (Bigham) McVay. Lora is survived by her partner, Ray Strasburg. She is also survived by her former husband Sammy Miller and their children Stacy Miller and her husband Brett Miller and Michael Miller and his wife Cristel Miller; her brothers Johnny McVay, Jim McVay, and Dan McVay; her grandchildren Logan, Brooke, Mason, James, and Ryan Miller; her nieces and nephews, Tracy Boone, Tina Flower, Tosha Tanquary, Sarah Randall, Daniel McVay, and Dave McVay; and other family members and friends.
