Laura Cupp-Neely

October 11, 1927 — July 13, 2019

Laura Jean (Cupp) Neely was born on October 11, 1927 in her grandmother’s house one mile north of Mayfield, Oklahoma. She left this life to be with the Lord on July 13, 2019.

Laura was preceded in death by her parents C. R. and Anna Laura Wells, her husband Bill Cupp, two sons, John Cupp and Daniel Cupp, and one daughter Mona Paulette Cupp.

She is survived by one son Gary Cupp and wife Sharon; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild and many cousins and close friends.

Laura and Bill Cupp operated a farm/ranch in Craig County, and she worked in the insurance business. Daughter Paula was a special gift given by God to Laura and Bill and all those who knew her. It was this God given gift that led Laura to become a strong advocate for persons with mental and physical disabilities. Her advocacy set her on a course that led to a providential meeting with another like-minded woman, Jane Hartley. From this meeting came a resolution and determination that life could be better for their children and the many others in similar situations. From that meeting came Home of Hope. Their goals were realized and continue today providing a stable home life, security and self-worth for the many that Laura and Jane gave so much of themselves to.

Laura loved traveling, cooking and sharing stories. She loved to entertain in her home and many a person came away with a memory and a full stomach. She was a generous person who loved people and her memory will remain forever with those who loved her.
