Karen Dee Freeman, 67, passed away on October 2, 2022, at her residence.
Karen was born on November 7, 1954, to L.D. and Alice Irene (Gawley) Pope in Nowata, Oklahoma.
Karen met Kenneth D. Freeman and the couple married in Winganon, OK on May 6, 1972. The couple made their home in Nowata. Karen worked in several Nowata County courthouse positions including the County Election Board, the County Clerk, and the County Commissioners Secretary. She enjoyed quilting, cooking, gardening, growing flowers, and loved spending time with her grandchildren.
She was a member of the Calvary Hill Church in Nowata, OK.
Karen was preceded in death by her parents; L.D. and Alice Pope, her brothers; Jack Pope, Bill Pope, Bob Pope, and Loren Pope, her sisters; Betsy Willard, Linda Davis, Clara Sue Radar, Peggy Gawley, and Deb Mitchell.
Karen is survived by her husband; Kenny D. Freeman of the home, her children; Kevin Freeman and wife, Tiffanie of Nowata, OK, Kenny David Freeman and wife, Chris of Superior, CO, Andrew Freeman of Nowata, OK, Cary Freeman of Nowata, OK, and Nathan Freeman and wife, Shiloh of Nowata, OK, her grandchildren; Hayley Freeman, Rebecca Freeman, Gabe Freeman, Samuel Freeman, Ethan Freeman, Kaitlyn Freeman, Connor Freeman, Kaleb Freeman, Noah Freeman, Jerzie Waits, Kaed Freeman, Deakon Freeman, and Kingston Freeman, four great-grandchildren, her siblings; Tom Pope of Chelsea, OK, Joyce Chambers of Chelsea, OK, Cathy Moreland of Chelsea, OK, and Sharon Hopkins and husband, Jerry of Nowata, OK, along with other family members and friends.
A graveside service for Karen will be held on Friday, October 7 at 10:00 a.m. at the Ball Cemetery in Childers, OK with Pastor Brian McCawley officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to St.Jude Childrens Hospital.
