Joyeleene Case

August 26, 1920 — January 9, 2020

Joy Case moved on to heaven from her home in Fountain Valley, CA on January 9, 2020. She was born in Doans, TX on August 26, 1920.  She graduated from high school in Elizabethton, Tennessee and went on to University of Tennessee where she earned a Bachelor of Science in nursing in 1944. During World War II, Joy served as a Registered Nurse in the Army. While serving, she met Robert C. Case in San Antonio, Texas.  They were married on July 7, 1945 and celebrated 71 years together until Bob passed away in 2017.  Bob and Joy moved to Bartlesville, OK in 1957. Joy was a member of Highland Park Baptist and then Bartlesville Southern Baptist, where she served in many capacities, including the children’s ministry and several mission committees. Joy and Bob lived in Norway from 1980-1985 for Bob’s job with Phillips. During that time and after retirement they traveled extensively, including mission trips to Venezuela, Panama and Colorado.

Joy was a strong, lively woman, who spoke her mind. She was hard-working and committed to her faith; she will be dearly missed.

Joy has been living in California near her daughter since October, 2017. She is survived by her daughter Janice Jones; her son Steve Case; her step-daughter Bobbie Dearing; eight grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at Bartlesville Southern Baptist Church on Saturday, January 18 at 2pm.
