Obituary

J.P. Crupper, a 91-year-old Nowata resident, passed away early Friday morning. J.P. was born on Apr 24,1935, in Nowata to Pearly and Hazel (Cranor) Crupper. He was a graduate of Childers High School and along with his wife, Lena Mae, owned and operated the Crupper Oil Service for over 50 years. On Dec. 15, 1962, he was married to the former Lena Mae Dick, in Nowata. J.P. was a member of the Church of God (Independent Holiness) Church, had also served as a missionary helper in Guatemala, Mexico, and Africa, and was the Director of Ball Cemetery for many years. He had also honorably served in the US Army.

He is survived by his wife, Lena Mae of the home; son, Troy Crupper and his wife Melody of Nowata; daughters, Stephanie Crupper of Nowata, and Wendy Miller and her husband Bill of South Coffeyville, OK; grandchildren, Jessica Livingston and her husband Nathaniel of Vinita, Samantha Cowan of Oglesby, OK, Blade Malone of Nowata, Jamie Harris and her husband Elliot of Bartlesville, Miranda Millard and her husband Denver of Edmond, Kelsie Gibson of Bartlesville, and Joshua Johnson of Bartlesville; 13 great grandchildren as well as a host of other relatives and friends. J.P. was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Dwight and Ron; sisters, Shirley, Charlene, and Ruby; and a son, Bobby Crupper.

Visitation for J.P. will be on Tuesday, June 23, 2026, in the Benjamin Funeral Chapel from 5-7pm with the funeral following the next day, Wed, June 24, 2026. Funeral services on Wed will be held in the First Church of God, Nowata, at 1:00 pm with Bro. Darrell Miller and Wendall Abbott officiating. Interment will be in the Ball Cemetery, Childers, with Joshua Johnson, Blade Malone, Keith Crupper, Mike Crupper, Corey Hobbs, and Zach Hobbs serving as casket bearers. Honorary casket bearers will be Thad Hewitt, Kurt Bashford, Derick Ott, Mike McElhaney, Sam Hicks, and Kevin Crupper.
