Jerry Lee Hundley, 81, lifetime resident of Nowata, Oklahoma, passed away on September 6, 2021. Jerry was born on August 26, 1940, in Nowata, Oklahoma to John D. and Winnifred Evelyn (Barnes) Hundley. He attended Nowata Public School where he received his education.
He was employed by Nowata Public Schools for many years as a math teacher. As a true Ironman, Jerry also ran the clock at sporting events, drove the bus to field trips until retirement. Jerry enjoyed helping and supporting Nowata Public Schools, as well as Nowata Ironmen sporting events.
In his free time, Jerry enjoyed being outdoors, which led to many hobbies such as fishing, hunting, and taking his dog, Foxy for walks. The most important thing in Jerry’s life was being with his family. Jerry had a great personality and never met a stranger. He will miss by all who knew him.
Jerry is preceded in death by his parents, John and Winnifed Hundley; one son, Darrell Hundley; one grandson, Andrew Polk; two siblings, Doyle Hundley and Buddy Hundley.
Survivors include his two children, Virginia Polk and husband Russell of Bartlesville, OK, Thomas Hundley and wife Debbie of Nowata, OK; four granchildren, Jennifer Owens, Jerry Polk, John Hundley, Kevin Polk; three great grandchildren, Summer Owens, Raymond Cox, Mary Cox and his fur baby, Foxy.
There will be a visitation from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Thursday September 9, 2021, at Benjamin Funeral Home Chapel in Nowata, Oklahoma. Services are under the direction of Benjamin Funeral Service of Nowata. Condolences can go online to www.honoringmemories.com or Benjamin Funeral Service Facebook page.
