We mourn the loss of Jason Robert Prince, 43, a loving family man and teacher, born on November 21, 1980, in Alpena, Michigan to William Prince and Nancy (Armstrong) Stoops. Unexpectedly, Jason passed into eternal rest on Tuesday, May 7, 2024, in Bartlesville, OK.
Jason grew up and graduated high school from Alcona Community Schools. He went on to attend college at Alpena Community College (Associates in Chemistry), Saginaw Valley State University (Bachelor’s in Education) and Texas A & M (Master’s of Mathematics). On June 24, 2006, Jason married the love of his life, Jennifer Marie Martinico, in Harrisville, MI.
In the summer of 2010, Jason and Jennifer moved to Nowata, OK, to seek employment with Nowata Public Schools. Jason has been a teacher for 14 years working in both Nowata Public Schools and Tri County Tech in various subjects such as mathematics, science, robotics, chemistry, and physics, which he was passionate about because of his love of working with children. Jason was the Robotics coach for Nowata’s Competitive Robotics Team. Under his coaching he has had several teams advance to the State Level and the World Games. He loved coaching Robotics and working with not just the students but the parents as well. Robotics and those involved hold a very special place in his heart.
In his free time, Jason enjoyed being outdoors whether it be fishing, camping, around the water, or shooting guns. He loved to travel, cook, and play games and could be quite competitive especially when it came to Euchre. Jason was a fun-loving spirit that liked to have a good time with lots of joking and laughing. He liked Dungeons and Dragons, The Lord of the Rings, and the Hobbit and had quite the collection of swords.
Jason was a family man. Jason and Jennifer started their family in 2014 with the adoption of their three children Michael, Chelo and Amelia Prince. In 2019 they added to their family to include their eldest daughter, Victoria. Jason loved his children and family and spending time with them is what he enjoyed. Jason additionally treated his dogs like his own children. He loved Budda, Panda, Honey Bear, Cocoa Bear and yes, even Phantom. He will be deeply missed by the people and pets that loved him.
