Harvey "Jack" Inman

Harvey Jack Inman was born on June 29, 1940 in Collinsville, Oklahoma to Charles Earnest “Jack” and Edna Elaine (Hobbs) Inman. Jack passed away peacefully on June 10, 2023 at the age of 82.

When Jack was only 12 years old, his father passed away leaving him to take on many responsibilities for the family. Despite the extra workload, Jack continued to attend and graduate from Nowata Public Schools - excelling in and holding officer titles in FFA each year. As a senior in high school, Jack purchased his family homestead where he would continue to expand, raise a family, and reside the rest of his years.

On April 14, 1960, Jack married the love of his life, Betty June Beck. Together they operated the family dairy and started a family. They welcomed their daughter, Julie, in January of 1963 and son, Jackie, soon followed in November later that year. As a family they continued to run the dairy farm and ranch, earning the title of Oklahoma Ranch and Farm World’s Family of the Year in 1973. In 1979, Jack stepped away from the dairy farming business and began to focus on stocker cattle, a passion that he would carry out the rest of his life.

As the years went on, grandkids and great grandkids entered the family. Big Jack enjoyed the role of Grandpa and Great-Grandpa by often attending extracurricular activities, coyote hunting, birthday parties, rodeos, tea parties, cattle workings, and supplying endless amounts of sugar and candy.

Big Jack was undoubtedly one of a kind with his big heart, ornery personality, and entertaining stories. To know him was to love him and he never met a stranger. He will be deeply missed by all.

Jack is survived by daughter Julie Hollenbeck and husband Dean of Nowata, OK, son C. Jack Inman of Delaware, OK, 4 grandchildren, Jered Hunter of Beaver, OK, Jasey Forth and husband Tim of South Coffeyville, OK, Chad Inman and wife Brooke of Childers, OK, Rowdy Inman and wife Beka of Delaware, OK, 6 great grandchildren, Tucker Forth, Tinley Forth, Ava Inman, Sally Inman, Conway Inman, and Turner Inman, aunt Georgalee Sawyer of Bartlesville, OK, and many other friends and family.

He is preceded in death by his wife Betty, parents Jack and Elaine, and sister Sue Inman.

Visitation for Jack will be held Wednesday, June 14, 2023, at the Benjamin Funeral Home in Nowata, Oklahoma from 5:00-7:00 pm. Services will be held on Thursday, June 15, 2023, at 10:30 am at Nowata Memorial Park Cemetery.
