Paul Elledge was born in Nowata in 1937 to Pete and Luella (Crass) Elledge, and he spent his entire life in Nowata County. Growing up in this close-knit community, he attended Nowata Public Schools, where he graduated in 1955. Paul had a passion for roller skating, which led him to compete as a member of the Coffeyville Skating Team, showcasing his enthusiasm for the sport. Known for his friendly demeanor, Paul had a remarkable ability to connect with people, making friends effortlessly and treating everyone he met as a companion. His professional journey began at Landers Brothers Grocery, where he enjoyed interacting with customers, but he eventually transitioned to a long and fulfilling career at the Nowata Post Office. Paul dedicated many years to this role, ultimately retiring in 2006, leaving behind a legacy of service and camaraderie in his beloved hometown. He enjoyed giving back to his community through coaching little league and volunteering at numerous youth events. Paul had a profound passion for music and dancing, which he actively pursued through his involvement as a volunteer board member for the Bartlesville Two Steppers Club and the Nowata Jubilee. His dedication to these organizations showcased his love for music and dancing which affectionately earned him the nickname “Two Stepping Mail Man”!

Paul was the youngest of three siblings, with an older brother Jim Elledge and an older sister, Frances Elledge Walker who teased him endlessly about being the “baby” of the family! In 1958, he married Linda Barnes, marking the beginning of a new chapter in his life. This union brought forth two cherished children, Teresa Jo Elledge Standeford and Timothy Ray Elledge, who would grow to become significant figures in his life. The family shared many memorable moments together, creating a bond that would last through the years, as Paul navigated the joys and challenges of parenthood while maintaining close ties with his siblings.

Paul is survived by his daughter Teresa and son-in-law Butch Standeford, along with his grandchildren Jeremy Elledge, Levi Standeford and his wife Treasure, JJ Perkins and her husband Brad. He also leaves behind great-grandchildren Rory, Kylee, Justin Jr., Justine, Michelle, Jadyn, Jyntri, Codie, Dylan, Caleb and Katelynn, in addition to numerous great-great-grandchildren, his nephews Allan Walker and wife Carline, Mark Walker and wife Lucy, Doak Elledge and wife Marla, great niece and nephews Allyson Allen, Ty Elledge and Cole Elledge.

Pual was proceeded in death by his parents, siblings and his son Tim and grandson Justin Elledge and his nephews Bobby Dean Walker and Rusty Elledge.

Funeral services for Paul Elledge will be held on Saturday, April 18, 2026, at 10:30 am in the Benjamin Funeral Service Chapel. Interment will follow in the Memorial Park Cemetery, Nowata.
