Colletta Smith

April 20, 1964 — March 5, 2020

Colletta Sue Smith, age 55, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 5, 2020, at Saint Francis Hospital in Tulsa.  She was born April 20, 1964, in Vinita, Oklahoma, to William Day and Leender Smith.  She was a 1982 graduate of Vinita High School.  She received an associate’s degree in business from Independence Community College.

Colletta’s professional career included teaching and restaurant management.  The career that she loved was the one that defined her life.  As a Project Manager for the Williams Companies, she utilized her God-given talents of solving problems and bringing people together.  Colletta truly lived life to the fullest through simple pleasures: dining out with friends; writing letters to friends and loved ones; spending holidays with family; and Friday night movies with her sister.  She had a God-given ability to reach people in a deep and positive way.  She never met a stranger.  She greeted all with open arms and open heart.

Colletta was preceded in death by her father, William Day; a grandson, Mareon Markel Smith; a beloved cousin, Shanga Brown; and a beloved uncle, Virgil Lee Smith, Jr. (“Tecumseh”).  Colletta is survived by her mother, Leender Smith-Cozine; a brother, Vincent Brookfield; an identical twin sister, Annetta Smith; a son, Marcus Dupree Smith, Sr.; a daughter, Rezjanna Collette Smith, five grandchildren; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
