Tulsa, Ok

Billy Lee Davis, 97, passed from this life on November 9, 2023, in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He was born to Claude Davis and Margaret (Brown) Davis on July 15, 1926, in Childers, Oklahoma.

Billy grew up in the rural Childers area and graduated from Childers High School. In front of the Nowata drugstore, Billy met Ruth Crupper, who he would someday marry. On December 2, 1948, he married the love of his life, Ruth Y. (Crupper) in Alluwe, Oklahoma, at the Crupper Family home. The couple had four sons together: Bill, James, Brian, and Johnny. Billy worked for Sinclain-Richfield for over 34 years, building oil pipelines in the petroleum industry. Billy and Ruth moved around a lot with Billy’s career, until Billy’s retirement.

Billy enjoyed gardening and traveling. Billy and Ruth took several trips after Billy’s retirement. Billy’s goal was to travel to all 50 states in the United States, which he successfully achieved. Some of their favorite trips included Alaska and Hawaii. Even when the couple were unable to drive, they were still taking bus excursions. Their favorite bus tour was the fall New England trip. Billy was onery and loved to joke around and he did so even in the nursing home. He will be truly missed by everyone who knew him.

Billy was preceded in death by his parents: Claude and Maragret Davis; his wife: Ruth Davis; his sons: Bill Davis and James Davis; and his siblings: Howard Davis and Dean Davis.

Those left to cherish the memory of Billy include his children: Brian Davis and wife, Janet of San Mateo, California and Johnny Davis and wife, Dana of Glenpool, Oklahoma; his daughter in law: Linda Davis of Atlanta, Georgia; and his 6 grandchildren, along with other family members and friends.
