Bertha Clyandia (Sanders) Harrington, 91, of Delaware, Oklahoma passed away on Sunday, September 19, 2021, with family at her side.
Clyandia was born on October 31, 1929, to Clyde Adair Sanders and Bertha Mae (Colston) Sanders on Sand Creek in Bartlesville, Oklahoma. She came from a large family being one of eight children in the family. Clyandia attended Childers High School. On February 13, 1950, Bertha married the love of her life, William Edward “Cotton” Harington in Bartlesville Oklahoma. Bertha and Cotton lived in the Bartlesville area until they moved to Delaware, OK in 1960, to operate the farm. Her and her husband made their living by farming all over Nowata County. Bertha had the privilege to cook for several places throughout her years such as, Forrest Manor Nursing Home, Hayes House, Delaware School, and a restaurant in Delaware, OK.
She was a hard worker and was not afraid of getting her hands dirty. Clyandia was always busy either at work, taking care of the family or lending a hand on the farm.
In her spare time, she had passion for hobbies including maintaining the flower bed, cooking, entertaining the family and spoiling the grandkids. She loved all of her family unconditionally and had a special place in her heart for all of them. She will be missed by her many friends and family.
Clyandia is preceded in death by her parents, Clyde and Bertha Sanders; husband Cotton Harrington of thirty-five years; siblings, Jim Sanders and wife Ruby, Harold Sanders and wife Peggy, Johnnie and Husband Orval Reed, Juanita Tennant and husband Chub, Etta Harrison and husband Sam, Grace Fussell and husband Dewey; and a brother-in-law Jim Pendleton.
Survivors include her sister Dora Mae Pendleton; one son, Ray Harrington, two granddaughters, Denise Harrington, Renna Harrington; two great grandchildren, Garett Harrington, Megan Harrington, several nieces, nephews, cousins and many other relatives and a host of friends.
The family would like to thank Angels Home Health, Rivercross Hospice, Donna Hawkins and Vicki Whitworth for all their help generosity.
Graveside services will be held 10am, Friday, September 24, 2021, at the Martin Cemetery with Pastor Eddy Pattison officiating. Services are under the direction of Benjamin Funeral Service of Nowata. Online condolences may be left at www.honoringmemories.com or on the Benjamin Facebook page.
