Alvin Jay Royer, 78, of Nowata passed away Saturday night in Nowata. Alvin was born on July 8, 1948, in Nowata, to Ora Everett and Nora (Goldsberry) Royer. He got his education in the Nowata Public Schools and during his working years he was a mechanic and a farmer. He enjoyed passing the time with his puzzle books and sitting in his van watching the cars and people as they passed by. On Apr 17, 1987, he was married to the former Mary Ann Radford, making their home in Nowata before she preceded him in death in 2024.

He is survived by his son, Jerry DeWitt and his wife, Jayna, two brothers, and a host of other relatives and friends, including his favorite niece that looked after him and helped him, especially through his illness the last few months. He is preceded in death by his wife, Mary Ann; his parents, 3 sisters, and 5 brothers.

Celebration of Life service will be on Saturday, August 29th, 2026 from 4:00-6:00 PM at the First Church of God Mayberry Center. His family would like to give special appreciation to the First Church of God, Brother Wendall Abbott, Dr. Caughell and his staff, and the hospice nursing staff that cared for him. Alvin's family all know he is with his God, for he has won his victory.
